    Leveling transmission for fluid change

    When it came to using a level, I used a level called a line level, it's about 3'' long. Any hardware stores carry them, also called a string line level.

    One more question, will I need to go through the gears again, to recheck my tranny fluid level? Jacked the rear up and placed my jack stands last night, plan to recheck today. It's been in the back of my mind, go through the gears or not or just reach the proper temp. and remove bolt and check...

    I finally changed out to a new PPE transmission pan and Valvoline max life fluid a few weeks ago. All has been good since, smooth shifting and the get go has been excellent, the truck likes. I like to recheck the fluid level, make sure it doesn't need a little or a little removed. I understand...

    I recently did change the front and rear diff, and transfer case back in the fall. I'm planning now to do the tranny myself, once the weather breaks to the warmer. Thanks to all!

    Appreciate all the advice and answers. I do know and read some write up's on the fluid change. Just wanted to know how true no transmission fluid change and filter wasn't needed since I was told it was Lifetime. Thank you.
