I am looking at EBC as well, with their slotted rotors and Red Stuffs pads - they recommend the Red Stuff for heavier vehicles like our trucks.. correct?
Does anybody here have a link for detailed information on the Hemi engine?
I have an '06 5.7 and looking for details regarding engine build. Thanks guys
MDS kicking in and out has been a thought, but this issue happens immediately after you start holding a constant speed anywhere between 60-100 kph.
The MDS system should take several minutes to engage should it not?
New spark plugs can make a world of difference. Try running a couple tanks of gas with a fuel injector cleaner (small bottle from STP for around 8 bucks at most stores) is also a cheap way to start checking for problemed areas. Coil packs may as well be checked while you have them out for the...
1521 code is being thrown on '06 5.7L hemi. Using the recommended 5w20 and frequent oil changes. Only scanned truck when I got an engine light recently due to P0137 Bank 1 Sensor 2 o2 sensor low voltage. Can anybody help with either one of these codes? I have thrown the 1521 before but not sure...
My shift from 1st to 2nd is about 1500-1800 rpm definitely not higher than that when accelerating in a normal fashion.
My trans has not been rebuilt. My ATF is still light pink and does not appear to have anything wrong with it.
When I am cruising at 100 kph steady my rpm will jump from...
Could be any of the following according to the code;
-Faulty spark plug (s)
- Faulty ignition coil (s)
- Clogged or faulty fuel injector (s)
- Intake air leak
- Fuel injectors harness is open or shorted
- Fuel Injectors circuit poor electrical connection
- Ignition coils harness is open or...
Oh okay I see what you're saying. I am not sure to be honest. I should have my truck back from the shop tomorrow morning I will do some driving around and let you know what I get. Trying to iron out some issues with my (potential) drivetrain issues as well.
When you say that it doesn't want to lock up in 1st can you hear or feel that? Just wondering what is tipping you off that the engagement is not occurring.
I changed my spark plugs about 15000 km ago. I was getting a Throttle Body Actuator code and I thought great I can clean this and that will resolve this issue. I cleaned the Throttle body and again - helped lessen the issue but it is still there. No codes anymore and have never thrown a TC code...
I don't think our 2006 rams have traction control. If they do, it is weak. Never do I have the computer cutting into my power supply or putting it where I don't need it. I can't do a burnout on dry pavement myself but I do have 35's and stock 3.92 rear end so I'll save my driveshaft instead...
Issue still present help guys!
at 60 mph the revs jump up about 150-200 rpm and then back down in a cycle almost. between 1600-1800. When going 45 mph constant speed there is sometimes a shudder that comes from the rear end and a small bang.
Long tubes give better performance in the high rpm range. Offer little benefit in the typical driving rpm range. This is proven by hundreds of dyno tests that shortys keep the power band down low - this isn't just an opinion.
