I've been installing the Rigid ones in the engine bay for years and even with all the salt on the roads here from our brutal winters I've never had any issues. Just have to think about the location under the hood and keep it higher up and protected. If sealing them I'd imagine you have to be...
Depending on where you locate them, you won't need weatherproof ones. Plain old relays work just fine - that's what even comes on the Rigid harness anyways.
Yup got it all figured out. Had to wire in 2 relays but once I got it all figured out it was easy to do. I just used the relays that came with the Rigids but never used the harness they came with since they wire the relays differently.
It's annoying for sure... especially after buying the additional plugs to keep the factory wiring in tact and now having to cut into it anyways.
Am looking at how to add in a relay the easiest... what I came up with so far is:

Just did this install on my 2015 Laramie and it turned out well (thanks to following this post!)... but my Rigid D2's (2 on each side) flicker when on. From searching around I guess I need to add in the relay's somehow since I am using the OEM wiring and switch to power these LED's.
Anyone...
Bought them today! Local store had them cheaper than what I could have ordered them for (from the USA) so I was in shock. Bought them on the spot!
Installed next Wednesday... pics to come!
I think the price upgrade might be worth it, since I do drive onto job sites fairly often and if those extra layers of rubber can help prevent a flat it would pay for itself (remember, I am lazy haha)
:)
Ah the reason why the 275 is so much cheaper is because it's not a LT tire (so 4 ply instead of 10?).
Would you guys recommend I stay away from the non-LT tire then?
Thanks!
Thanks for the reply! I am guessing a level kit wouldn't help much for the width clearance, only the height - correct? So if they don't rub at full lock now they shouldn't on stock suspension I'm guessing. How much clearance do you have between the tires and the suspension? Any pics of them...
Looking at ditching the OEM tires on my 2013 Sport (factory 20" wheels - which I want to keep) and getting some DuraTracs put on for all year use (I'm lazy).
Been searching and see that the majority of people seem to think they "should" fit... or people that have them also have a lift/level...
