    So I disconnected the connection behind the tailgate (not the one inside the tailgate) and sprayed contact cleaner. Everything looked fine but I still have the issue. Going to try the connection in the tailgate next. Any other ideas?

    Quick update. I went and test drove the 4WD today. It had a faint smell of smoke and the interior could use a cleaning but other than that it was in good shape. Had the snap in bedliner instead of spray in (I prefer spray). Dealer first said my truck (12500 miles, in better shape than the 4WD)...

    Thanks for all of the replies everyone, going to talk to the dealer this weekend and see what they offer. I agree that preparation and proper tires make a large difference regardless of 2wd or 4WD but I’m still going to see what they say. My job could move me places with much harsher winters...
