I put the Mc Gaughy's delux kit on my quad cab and the ride is awesome. I just received my new Belltech street performance shocks and can't wait to get them under it.
I have a 4/6 drop and was wanting to go lower. My question is what is everyone doing about their gas tanks being so low? Is there a way to get the bottom level with the frame rails? I have already dragged mine once and don't want to do that again.
I just installed a Flowmaster 40 on my 04 redsled. My question is do I have to reset the pcm or will it relearn quick enough by it self? I drive on average about 85 miles a day to and from work. Thanks in advance.
Like I always tell everyone, don't go cheap go correct. Just buy a kit, someone else has already worked out all the problems for you that way. Also you don't have to worry about forgetting anything the day of the install.
I went with a Mc Gaughy's 4/6 with a c notch and I couldn't be happier. It rides way better and still hauls loads. Mine is a 04 but it should be the same. I would suggest buying the delux kit as it is all inclusive. I have different sized tires now, those were just to have room for the drop, but...
I never started with drop shakles. I went straight for the hard stuff. 4/6 with c notch. I love it and I still haul loads. The only thing I worry about is steep driveways.
I have a few hundred pounds in the bed of my truck right now. The first time I hauled any weight I was nervous because of the c notch but no issues. The only problem is you will blind everyone around you at night when your headlights rise to the occassion.
The problem with the control arm drop is it lowers the spring bucket. So the distance from the top to the bottom of the spring is still stock length. You will still need stock shock length. If you had drop springs then you could use drop shocks.
