Stock 5.7 dyno numbers???
I know this old, and granted none of these trucks were new except some 2014s every thing after 2014 were new at the time.. I've only done two 2003's one RC4x2 and the other QC4x4 , the 4x2 hit 281, the QC barely made 260. Most of the bone stock 04-05s I've dynoed were 270-280. 06 -08...- ric3xrt

Cam failures or not. How many miles have you gone?
Anything over 11MPH (17KmH) on the 1500s the MDS is active when your foot is off the pedal... and again it'***** or miss, there are plenty of cam failures with less then 100 Idle hours, and many with above. it's not an absolute defined issue, just read thru the comments in this thread, almost...- ric3xrt

LOL it's long idle durations that hurt the cam/lifters when in ECO/MDS activation. normal driving its fine, stuck on the 405 Freeway for 30 mins...your fine, an hour no , but it's not like that one hour is going to hurt you, it's the 20-30 hours a month that add up is where we see the damage...- ric3xrt

A lot of it is blown out of proportion, when you look at it from a Per/100 warranty claim , Dodge averages .71 units for every 1 GM..... a good friend of mine is very high up on the Ford Corporate food chain , and says they are starting to see a few of the same type cam failures with the all...- ric3xrt

Sell or not to Sell....
Only you can decide if it's worth it, if you sell it, the 1st nice GoManGo Daytona you wish you had yours. these trucks seem to hover around 8500-12k in good shape, with it ever be worth the same as your Father in Laws 69.......probably not. I tell my friends and people I've built engines for...- ric3xrt

They can be a ***** to put back together , I'm going to do one on different way to modify them , I have trick that moves the sweep, and I'll so how to lock them with out the Comp cams piece. -

it's a route to that can be taken, but the 518/46Rh is bolt in, stock X-member ,stock driveshaft......no doubt about it none of these guys are making enough HP&TQ to hurt a 727 and Gear Vendors combo....- ric3xrt

Look in to a 518/46rh swap, it's BOLT in , no adapters, the con of the 46rh swap is it's only 4 gears but you can control the lock up of the converter . ..................- ric3xrt
