I was just ordering the same tracks and bars for my truck... I'm planning to equip a cargo basket. Looks awesome!
By the way, did you bolt the tracks to the plastic bed caps or run them through the sheet metal?
My Express V6 came with 33" tires on 20" rims also, but I have the 3.55 rear end. When I was shopping around it seemed that all the trucks equipped with the 20" wheels had the shorter gearing... I can't speak as to why that is, but I got the impression the 3.55 gears were associated with the...
What about shops that maintain fleet vehicles? I'm sure there is some kind of land transport system out there.
Also, have you considered doing a 3" body lift instead? That option would eliminate the alignment requirement...
That's #winning.
I also would like to know if the bolts run through into the wheel wells... I imagine the screws would torque out if they're not run all the way through.
All true points... Longer studs are always an option, and there is definitely a safe spacer width that can be run. Having said that, I personally was looking for the wheels to align with my fender flares, so....
Got mine! 2" hubcentric adapters:
Thanks again guys! I am planning on keeping the stock wheels for now since I'm not planning to lift the truck. I think they look sharp in chrome, though I'll probably dip them black once the fender flares go on...
Speaking of spacers and fender flares, I got some parts in today...
I would recommend against using a plate that is pressed between the wheel and the hub... this has the effect of reducing the total number of threads that the lug nuts are grabbing. By extension I think you're better off using an adapter with its own bolts, which means you're looking to go at...
Thanks for the feedback guys! I know mine isn't the biggest or baddest or most powerful, but I'm excited all the same. The Ram is just an attractive truck, and I already plan to get into another one when this lease is over.
In the meantime: shopping for more parts!
Hey Everyone,
My name is Andrew and I just picked up my first Ram about 2 weeks ago. I wanted to start this thread as a log of my time with the truck. I probably won't do any extreme modifications on this one since it's a lease, but I have planned a few bolt-on parts.
A little history...
