    Considering a Hemi Powered 2500

I'm currently in a 2019 F-150 that has had a few issues it shouldn't have had: cam phasers; some weird electrical problems It's current running well, but I no longer trust it. I'm thinking about getting back into a Ram 2500 after 8 years away. I'd love a diesel, but I just cannot justify the...

F-150 to Ram 1500, Looking for Thoughts

Not horrible. I see that on my F-150, but in town. I can get to 21 or so on a highway run at 75.

F-150 to Ram 1500, Looking for Thoughts

I have. It's on the short list. I just know that if I do that, it's a 14-15 mpg truck always. A very capable one indeed, though.

F-150 to Ram 1500, Looking for Thoughts

Yikes! 1,135 is crazy low. I've got 1,720 right now and it's tight. It seems to me it's somewhat irresponsible for a truck to not be able to cargo at least 18% of its towing capacity. Some of the decisions made by the people who makes these trucks mystify me. Ram told TFLtruck that they...

F-150 to Ram 1500, Looking for Thoughts

I am currently in a 2017 F-150 that I leased "under duress" after my 2013 diesel Ram 2500 was destroyed in a hail storm. I miss the big truck, but don't necessarily need one, and I've come to like this "little" truck, especially the Ecoboost's altitude negating turbo charger. Colorado with my...

    98 1500 3.9L - 42RE or 46RE

I found a VIN decoder that has all the build specs for the truck. It indicates it's got a 3.21 rear-end (now to figure out what kind) and a 2.74 first gear ratio, which tells me 42RE. I'll crawl under this weekend and take a look at the pan.

    98 1500 3.9L - 42RE or 46RE

Howdy! My mother's 98, 1500, short-bed, 2wd has the four-speed auto. Is this the 42RE or 46RE? The internet seems vague on this. I know there's little important difference, but I'm just curious about the details. Or is there an important difference? Thanks!
