Patches are $50 on Ebay per side. They will last 10 years if done decent. If you can't weld them you can even pop rivet then putty over.- Tomslick

Mileage on your 3rd Gen.?
223,000 miles 2007 Ram 1500, Hemi 5.7 4x4, Quad cab, original drive train 223,000 miles. Runs great. Gave me headaches for a little while. 03 5.7 misfire at idle
They just are not very good trucks. I had a Nissan for 15 years and before that a Toyota for 10. I have had a Dodge now for 9 months. All trucks were used. I agree I agree total waste of money. Will do nothing but potentially cause problems with the system. If you think you need to improve performance, the best bang for your buck are headers and exhaust. Or change the gearing.- Tomslick

CEL went away and came back
There is hope The o2 sensors are not expensive on EBay. A cheap sensor wrench from local auto parts store makes the job easy. Easy to access. I am very glad to hear guys like their Dodges. Gives me some hope!- Tomslick

Yes it is called Dodge! Sorry, but 1 had a Toyota for 10 years, a Nissan for 15 years, and a Dodge for 8 months. I have had more problems in 8 months than I had in 25 years for both my other trucks. Third gen Dodge trucks are just poor quality. I can't keep mine on the road.- Tomslick

Do I have bad fuel pump relay?
I have been reading all the nightmare TIPM stories. I put in a new fuel pump 6 months ago and now it is pushing out 5-10 psi which is not enough to start my truck. Is it a bad pump again? Would a bad fuel pump relay cause this? I have 2007 Hemi. Can anyone suggest? Thank you!- Tomslick

New oil pressure sensor causes no start
I have an 07 that did the exact same thing. I replaced the sensor with a new one and no start. Towed it to dealer and they replaced it with their own and it started. I was very upset! Fuel Pump help
I am replacing my fuel pump AGAIN. My 2007 Hemi quad cab keeps burning up fuel pumps. I know this is a common problem. A friend told me that he thinks the connector to the pump might be bad. Won't start again
Tried that Did not test fuel pressure but I took the line off at fuel rail and tied a plastic bag around it. I turned key for two seconds and filled a sandwich baggy with fuel. So I know I have gas but not sure of pressure. Pump is 5 months old. I also replaced oil pressure sensor 5 months ago...- Tomslick

Rattle at certain RPM
On a Toyota it would mean little but on a Dodge it means that you will melt nearby wires, hoses or components. Just look close to the shield for areas of concern and then cover or shield those parts with something else. -
