Changing the LEDs in the Switches, Radio and HVAC

Yeah that would work, good idea!! These have been around long enough that there should be a few in junkyards huh? I should check around for a new driver's door switch actually, somehow I messed up the rear left window control... Tim

Changing the LEDs in the Switches, Radio and HVAC

I'm in Dubois western side, sorry. I'm not sure I want to tackle anyone else's interior to be honest, I messed up my driver's door switch and the manual HVAC is a real bear... Red would look awesome though, I did my 99 Vette all in red LEDs. Looked like the gates of hell when I opened the...

Changing the LEDs in the Switches, Radio and HVAC

There's a mix of PLCC-2s and 0805s... I didn't tear into the dash as I decided to go White after I had color saturation problems with the temp dial in the HVAC (it turned purple) and it's a real PITA to get apart!!! I have to do my steering wheel buttons yet but not until I get my upgraded...

dog odor and hair in carpet...best way to eliminate???

I was in the same boat, although my smell wasn't that bad. Try lightly misting white vinegar all over the cabin with a spray bottle. Worked for me... Tim

1 7/8" LTs with a 2.5" Y Pipe, Negates Low End TQ loss??

Thanks! Just checked that out and you have to use their Y Pipe, $1,700 total before shipping... I need another job!!!!! Tim

1 7/8" LTs with a 2.5" Y Pipe, Negates Low End TQ loss??

Precisely my understanding, thanks! 1 7/8" I'm assuming are too large for the 5.7 HEMI and will slow the exhaust pulses reducing scavenging and making the engine work harder getting rid of that crap??? I'm not intimate with the 5.7 HEMI but I know in my 99 Vette, 1 7/8" primaries were too...

1 7/8" LTs with a 2.5" Y Pipe, Negates Low End TQ loss??

A bit disgusted with the cost of ARH and SW LTs I contacted JBA to see if they are ever going to offer 1 3/4" LTs for the 5.,7 and here's my answer; We are only going to offer the 1 7/8” version of our Long Tube header. If you need any additional info please let us know and if you are worried...

Changing the LEDs in the Switches, Radio and HVAC

In the most simplistic terms, you remove all the switches/components from the truck, open them up and remove and replace the stock LEDs with ones of your color choice... I was going to do a full blown DIY on it but honestly there are a few areas (Driver and both rear window switches and the...

Changing the LEDs in the Switches, Radio and HVAC

Yeah that's a problem for sure! Time to hit the junkyards and EBay for spare switches and components! lol Speaking of which, one thing on my to do list is the EVIC cluster and steering wheel controls for it. I should start looking around for that stuff huh? Tim

Changing the LEDs in the Switches, Radio and HVAC

I know right? The first time I drove it at night, I was like "no way!" my AMC Ambassador had green! lol Anyway, I do this on the side in the Corvette world but I'm not a vendor in here or anything. Also there are a few components that are tricky, three of the door switches and the HVAC. If...

Changing the LEDs in the Switches, Radio and HVAC

Probably not everything to be honest, I just everything back together!!!! I do have to order white 0805 LEDs for the stock radio, when I receive those I can try and video tape removing some and solder some new ones back in... You could probably find some good videos on you tube I'd imagine...

Changing the LEDs in the Switches, Radio and HVAC

Thank you, I've since changed everything over to white and it looks much better. HVAC is a touch too bright and I can't find 0805 LEDs with a lower mcd rating. I would recommend touching the tops with a black sharpie to dim them down a tad. I'm still waiting on some low mcd PLCC-2s for the door...

Changing the LEDs in the Switches, Radio and HVAC

OK got the Radio done, pretty easy, 26 LEDs though! Any, here's the last of the pics I'm taking. Not much interest in this it seems... This crappy pic shows the actual color the best, the HVAC isn't as bright as these pics show; And after all this, I've decided to rip everything...
