I have the type r's in my dodge and I'm not pleased with them. I'm gonna get some Morels when the money fairy visits me. I also have the type r sub and it's pretty muddy and boomy. Might be the ported fox box that it's in but I'm switching to a better sq sub and going with 2 instead of one and...
Once I get some time, I'll tune it the best I can. I'm sure it'll sound decent!
New sub is noticeably louder! But the more videos I watch on YouTube, the more I want to change everything. Was looking at D.A.D. and Skar subs. but there isn't much room to work with.
New sub arrived today in what used to be a cardboard box. Thank you, FedEx. -_-
Truck did great on my trip to Florida.
Really need to get my amp situation fixed. Am gonna try to mount them on the back wall like BCMark did sometime in the future.
Still in need of proper tuning. As always I'm...
I would make sure the window switches are clipped in all the way on the door and recheck the clips between the door and the cab and make sure you didn't pull anything loose. I had trouble with the back grommets and the fronts were impossible for me. I went through a little rubber plug on the fronts.
I had the day off and in the middle of preparing for my trip, I went ahead and swung by a stereo shop and got some ring terminals and some sealer for my power wire at Home Depot. Will tape speaker wires later.
Thanks man. I'm waiting to purchase some 1/0 gauge terminal rings so I can mount my fuse holder somewhere else. BCMark gave me a good idea for where to mount it. And that's a great idea for the speaker wire. I'll do that today. I've got a 14 hour drive ahead of me. I might even seal up the power...
Tweeters are in, 3.5s are snipped, still waiting on sub. Amazon had their head in their ass so I will be road tripping with the sub that's wired at 4ohms. They sound fantastic. The front stage sounds much cleaner.
Great comments, guys. It's cool to hear about the beginnings since the ages range quite a bit.
My first system was in my dad's ramcharger, but my first car's system had a pioneer deck, Sony xplod coxials, American legacy 2000watt amp, 2 audiobahn 12's that advertised 1000 rms each, capacitor...
Whelp, I drilled my holes in the sails. I put them where there was some inward angle in the plastic so I could point the tweeters better. Not too shabby.
And my sub is supposed to be arriving today. Told the wife I'd wait to buy a new sub until I sold the old one. Whoops. Now the problem is I...
So I found this the other day in our shop and I think I'll use it to tune my amps better.
Budget build all the way. Once I've learned some more from you guys, I'll up my game.
I don't have any angled pod mounts for my tweeters so they'll be going in flat and I'll point them where needed.
