Very early this morning I read while laying on the bed in our trailer with my wife on a deserted Northern California coast beach that a large earthquake deep beneath the ocean had hit outside of Alaska. They were warning of a possible tsunami which could hit here at 5:20 AM PST. We were ready to flee, but it was just a little bit later when I read that the warning was cancelled.

My wife asked me around 5AM to go out and look at the waves, of which I didn't.

No matter how powerful the Power Wagon is, in this case nature would have won without a doubt. We both have seen the Crescent City, California tsunami high water sign way up some 2 stories on a pole off Highway 1 from the 1964 Alaskan earthquake. Being 60 year old native California coast kids at that time we sure remember it well.

Going back to Colorado once the snowstorm over the Sierra Nevada range is over. Back to the real cold.

The warning was cancelled early on to include BC and most of Alaska. Where you from in Colorado. We are very familiar with the Grand Junction and Parachute areas.

We live near Mesa.

Next time you are in Parachute give the Battlement Reservoirs 4x4 road a go.

I still haven’t got used to waking up to the house shaking. Felt a couple of good ones since I’ve been up here.
