Wanting to lower rear end 2014 1500 SLT, just to level out truck. Would air shocks do the trick, so I can still increase height to carry a load? Thanks

They do make leveling kits, look into those.
Air bags are the way to go for load carrying.
Air shocks put the weight on to the shock mounts which aren't designed to carry weight and will fail eventually, plus the angle of the shocks (on my truck anyway) wouldn't allow air shocks to do much.

Check Pro-suspensions.com. They have 2” lowering coils for the rear.

I never had an issue with ride quality and using stock shocks lowering the rear on my 12 and 16 both rcsb. Used mcgaughys 44055 on both, both were a little higher in the rear. Now lowering it 2/4 and getting it to ride right, that was an expensive rabbit hole.

My brother did do a front leveling kit on his 2012 z71, it rode lack hammered ass after he did it

I dont recommend getting air shocks only because the lower brackets where the shocks get bolted too on the axle aren't designed to carry the additional load of the vehicle, especially is you place any type of load in the rear.
The rear is typically 2" +/- inches taller than the rear. I would look into getting coil springs that are only 2" drop. That would be a safer bet.
