I just bought am 04 RAM 1500 standard cab 4x4. I love it!!! My wife is disabled and has a hard time getting in it. I was going to buy some running boards for it. I like the round nerf bars. The problem is that on the standard cab they're so short they look funny installed. I know the four door trucks you can buy wheel to wheel running boards. I've looked, but can't find any for a 20 year old standard cab. Has anyone seen them? Got a link?

I must have a thing for the 04. This is my third one :)

Check in with our vendors on that section of the forum, such as @RealTruck they can help. Also, consider flat running board, nerf bars may not be best option for your wife.

You may want to consider flat, 5 or 6 inch wide running boards, they may not be as pleasing to your eyes, but they are much less slippery when wet

My wife needs the running boards to get in and out. I have the nerf style with rough rubber pieces on top where you place your feet when climbing in and out. Never had a slip yet. But yeah, if you're really concerned, go with flat, cosmetics be damned.

I've slipped on my round nerve bars before, but I also use my trucks to plow (just Google it, OP) but I didn't think that was pertinent since the OP is in commiefornia

Congrats on your new Ram! Nerf bars and running boards will definitely make all the difference in entering and exiting a truck. I didn't find any nerf bar style that are wheel-to-wheel for your '09, but I did find the
Luverne O-Mega II Black Wheel to Wheel Running Boards. They are also available in silver.

These have a 6-inch stepping surface for secure footing, as well as non-skid aluminum step pads. The O-Mega II steps are available with a frame mount hardware kit or a rocker panel mount hardware kit for a straightforward installation.

If you have any questions about these steps, would like a pricing quote or check shipping, feel free to PM me. You can also email me at [email protected].
