Depends on what they mean by the heads are bad
You will need to clarify what's bad
It could have dropped a valve
A valve seat could have dropped
A spring break
Bent pushrods ect
It could have taken out that piston. Or damaged it
A manifold tick leading to a failure like this is unlikely btw
A 6.1 cam won't work in your vvt motor
A custom cam for the vvt motor is very exspensive as the cam core costs a lot more
I would stick with the exhaust. A retune is also going to force you into a very exspensive 1k pcm change And that's before the cost of the tuner and custom tune
What's funny is the EPA says eco diesel is bad ect
But my eco diesel ram was getting a conservative 26-27 mpg at 75-80 mph here in Houston traffic.
