I managed to answer my own questions:
According to the Amazon listing these tow hooks have a capacity of 5,500 lb each
I also managed to convert the cad files to '.dxf' format for my local fabricator's machine. I made dxf files for several years since I didn't know the age of his machine. I...
does anyone know the towing specs with these brackets? e.g. 10,000 lb or whatever, I was looking to get a 12,000 lb warn winch so I was wondering if these brackets would be okay
Hey I called up my local metal fabricator and he was wanting a '.dxf' file format since that is what his cad software used, does anyone know if there exists a '.dxf' version? Or if anyone is still selling them?
trying to straighten the cable with an extension did NOT work. Using an iPhone 8 seemed to fix the issue, previously I was using iphone 6 and the iphone 8 worked with the same setup that the iphone 6 didnt work, as far as I can tell...
Personally I am finding that the uRAM usb connection is just too tight and is pulling the connection to the passenger side too much. Once I take the uRAM out of the casing and make the USB perfectly straight into the uRAM the issue of skipping goes away. I am thinking the issue lies with the...
Thanks HTXRamExp!
This is also the first car where I had any modifications done. Some how I knew better on my first car to not touch things, its odd how I knew better with less experience. Any how I think you are right about doing it yourself. Unfortunately at the time of the install I was also...
Part 2/2
At the end of February 2020 I moved to Iowa to finish my school work, I now am in a different state and can no longer take my car back to the shop that installed the equipment, which is unfortunate (or maybe fortunate? The more they touched the car the more fucked up it might have...
Part 1/2 (This is a long read, and is also a rant but I seriously need some help/opinions about this)
So I bought the car in October 2019 - Its a 2013 RAM 1500 Tradesman with 150k miles as of right now (I bought with 139k)
It came with the 5 inch small stereo and after 2 months (December 2019)...
To be honest, I'm in middle of nowhere Iowa and its not much of an issue at all, only heard of a handful of cases in my town and from what I heard they were mostly prius's
I think I'm feeling a little better knowing that my car alarm might be a deterrent, so I might just leave it since I wasn't...
So I just went outside and kicked my tire, what do you know the car alarm went off :D
I never knew it did that ha ha ha
EDIT: I don't think I can put a camera up realistically, its a rental property
So maybe a dash cam that has a front windshield and rear truck bed view? I think they sell a few cameras that come with a rear and you route the cable through to the front camera (i.e. not the ones that have a cabin rear camera, the ones that have an actual rear camera)
Think thats better...
I agree that if someone is determined they can get through it quite easily, but the idea is that once they see it, they figure to move on to the next car. Same thing with bike locks, they can all be broken but the idea is that if your bike is locked up well then the thief will move to easier targets
I keep hearing on the news thefts are going up and up and up, I park my car outside and it has a 2.5" front lift which I would imagine makes it easier for theft, since I can change my oil without a jack
I looked around but they seem to only sell plates for the toyota prius and honda element...
