    Brake cost 4/21/23

these pads are excellent as far as stopping power goes. probably one of the better pads ive used in that department. horrendous when it comes to brake dust though. i've been running Raybestos Element 3 brake pads on a few of my vehicles. they seem to stop great, little to no dust and and...

Directed 4X10/5X10 Remote Start Alarm Purchased from Doug not working

the warranty is only valid if its installed by an authorized dealer. hence why none of these units are technically covered. i had the same issue in here. i found a local dealer that was cool and willing to help me out. he tried reprogramming the unit for me a few times but the second stage...

    VP4/RA4 Digitizer Replacement

The radio in my truck is becoming really finnicky with responding to touch. I'm pretty sure the digitizer needs to be replaced. I see a bunch of options out there ranging from $25 all the way to $200. Anyone have any experience which company would be a good one to buy from? I'd rather buy...

6.4 Hemi 100K Spark Plug Change

digging up an old thread here but where did you get that ngk part number? per NGK, the correct replacement plug for the 6.4 is 96779, which they show has a 100k service interval.

    New Truck Advice

at 19,000 lbs you should be looking for a 3500 diesel. probably a dually.

anyone found 6 ply 18" tires to run on a 2500

never heard of anyone going 6-ply on a HD truck. i would imagine they would wear poorly with the weight of the truck, especially the front end. going to a tire with a lighter load rating will certainly smooth out the ride a bit. also a smaller wheel, while still keeping the same overall...

    Manual 4wd to Electronic

for starters, you have to swap the transfer case. im going to go out on a whim and say its not exactly plug and play (despite that some of the wiring may be there) and would most likely require dealer programming in order to work. that is likely going to be difficult/impossible. you could...

    Rebel Conversion vs Power Wagon

im probably going to catch shit for this but it sounds like what your looking for is a ford raptor. if the power wagon is your dream truck, are you going to be satisfied with a built 1500 or are you just going to wonder "what if" you bought the power wagon instead? thats the question i would...

    Leveling a 2x4 vs 4x4

4x4 vs 4x2 leveling kits are different and not interchangeable.

Off road pkg, pwr wagon level shocks

unless the track bar is a steal, i would probably skip the power wagon bar and go with an aftermarket adjustable one. they are rebuild-able and cheaper in the long run.

Off road pkg, pwr wagon level shocks

the cheapest solution is to buy bilstein 5100's for all 4 corners. the bilsteins that come on the power wagon are a dealer only item (and not cheap), despite that they are an 'aftermarket' brand shock.

    Lien

dont know where your from, but in NYS the dealer is correct. you take the copy of the title with the lien and an original copy of the letter from the lienholder(bank) stating that the lien has been satisfied to the DMV when you go to register the truck. you are issued a clean title. pretty...

    Might buy a Power Wagon

2009 and 2010 are two different body style trucks. the 2005 smart bar differs from the 2006-2009 trucks, and im pretty sure the 2010+ smart bar is different from those as well. the 2005 smart bar used to be significantly cheaper then the 2006+, but im not sure if they are available new...

Cummins Cold Starts: How Long Before Cabin Heater Works?

around freezing? its not too bad. i wouldnt let the thing sit there an idle until you get hot air but after a few minutes of driving you get warm air. the diesels do take longer to warm up then the gassers, but there newer diesels are much better then the old ones. i had an old 2nd gen that...

Thoughts on Fuel Injector Replacement. 150,000 Miles

i wouldnt throw new injectors at something just because. seems like a waste of money if they are giving you no signs of any issues. run a good fuel system cleaner through the tank and call it a day. you could even take your injectors out and have them cleaned/tested if you are really picky...

Help me find a DIY friendly Dealership in Houston

i cant offer any help, but i feel your pain. i got the same bullshit from dealers near me when i added the oem backup camera. they wanted me to authorize anywhere from 2-6 hours labor to look over the wiring before adding the code, at a shop rate of $159/hr. i bought the OBD genie instead.

    2011 Ram Lower Ball Joints

lower ball joints press in/out. if your bushings are good, id just swap the ball joints. if the bushings need replacing as well, probably cheaper to replace the whole arm.

    Shocks - Yes I did a search

i was disappointed in the monroe reflex the last time i put them on an HD. bilstein 4600's are a good choice and not too expensive. ive also used kyb monomax and they seemed pretty nice as well. cheaper then the bilsteins too.

    rough ride

an e-rated tire is going to be firmer then what you have now. jumping to a 35" tire will give more sidewall cushion but its also most likely going to be a e-rated tire so it wont be any better then what you have now, probably still firmer. what psi are you running in your tires?

Sorry, but it's another anti-spin question

id say this is pretty spot on. LSD is nice to have, certainly not needed though (for most driving situations). if your getting a great deal, i wouldnt be too concerned about not having it. you can add a limited slip carrier later if you feel you need it without breaking the bank. its much...
