Right on! Thanks for the replies!! I’ve read some grounding threads and sounds like there may be a couple connections that are impossible to access? Obviously the one connecting the batt neg to the truck is easy enough. Not sure when the battery was replaced last but will test and just plan on...- ERS_85

INFAMOUS Red Lightning Bolt - but disconnected the battery!?
Greetings all! Today something strange happened. I fired up my daily driver 2012 Ram 2500 ST w/Hemi 5.7….it idled for 2 minutes or so then I placed in drive. The second I put some pressure on accelerator pedal, the engine sputtered and died, red lightning bolt illuminated. Could not restart...- ERS_85

Update: the shop replaced the ECU. This resolved the issue.- ERS_85

Thanks Brunnie and wheatboy. You make good pints and that thread was helpful for sure. I need to confirm that the truck will not start as it sits right now. Not sure if mechanic has tried restarting yet or any other basics like disconnect/reconnect batt cables. Appreciate the continued help all!- ERS_85

thanks pacofortacos! And I’m guessing the skills at this particular shop may be questionable given the start of the repair. Anyone think this is related to the fuses/fuse box or some random sensor?- ERS_85
