Currently in the process of removing the factory amplifier, replacing all of the speakers including the Sub and wondering how many others out there think that the Alpine system in the 2013 - 2017 RAM is good but still lacks a lot of depth and separation and can be improved. I am really curious...
The factory amplifier is only outputting bass to the front doors and full range to the rear, it is possible if you want to upgrade your sound. Have you done anything yet or are you still looking for options?
I love it, I have a few friends that also drive RAMS (real ones not 3.6L lol) and I have recommended it to them. I have primarily been using voice command for streaming music, navigation, and most Android Auto features. I have an air mouse I use for Youtube and Hulu that has a USB dongle when I...
I am buying my second VLine unit for a family member of mine and just noticed that there is a group buy currently if anybody else was interested in purchasing the VLine. I did a post previously after I first installed mine with all the details as far as installation and features but it adds...
The installation was plugging in the included harness and there was another plug for the factory harness to plug back into. All my factory sources are still available and there is two different ways to access them, there is a shortcut on the UI and also I can just push in the left volume knob...
I have a less expensive one in my RAM 1500 and love mine. This is the video that I watched before purchasing.

I have heard of some going this route as well. There's many routes to go and I thought this worked best for my applications. Hulu TV is kind of all I am using.
I used the following and came with everything I needed for the installation.

Here is the product I used and works with the premium Alpine system.

I have an extra LC2i pro and Alpine power pack, I may go this route. One question, did you use 6 x 9 to 6.5 adapters on the door speakers for them to fit properly?
I assumed they were all bass so fair enough! Glad to be corrected as long as the correct information is being put out there. I still feel the same as far as the front doors bass sounding pretty bad no matter how I set the EQ. Fine enough for me to live with but can definitely be improved...
The 6 x 9's in the door are only for bass so 4 door 6 x 9's plus a SUB doesn't reproduce bass how most of us want to hear it. Even switching out the speakers won't fix that since the amp sends low frequency bass signals only to those door speakers. To really fix the audio in this truck you need...
Glad I did not have to open up the radio, if it came down to it I would have done it but this was basically a mini computer that I placed in my glovebox. It has USB ports, HDMI in/out, and I haven't really had any HDMI devices to toy around with yet since I downloaded HULU tv directly to it that...
I put them in the same category and would say that some of the premier audio design and install shops would advocate for the Audio Control products. You can't go wrong with either of them!
Check out this video from Mark at Car Audio Fabrication.

I was also thinking of going the add on route before I found this. Is the add on with an external screen that you added? I do like having the factory screen but my kids have taken over and I spend majority of the time playing videos for them now. :whymewhyme:
If you are looking at the keylock also checkout the LC2I pro by Audio Control, I have installed it at least 20 times when I was installing at a shop and was always the preferred line output convertor.
I use the voice command for NAV and Music and it also uses the tune knob for entering passwords and things of that sort. I also have an air mouse too but rarely use it in all honesty.
It was a T-Harness plugged into the factory radio, retained all the Uconnect features but my USB source now displays Android Auto and has Google playstore too. It's called a VLine and costed me a bit but I think it's been worth it so far. I've had it for 2 months now and rarely use the factory...
I just finished adding Apple Carplay/Android Auto to my 2017 RAM and started a thread for it.

New member to the RAM Forum's and I had recently installed Android Auto/Apple Carplay into my 2017 RAM 1500 and was wondering if I re-did the installation and recorded a video if anybody would be intrested in seeing the process. I downloaded HULU Live TV and a few other applications and think it...
