I went with jl's 12 inch shallow mounts. I listen to rap/hip hop but when the kids are in the truck is what ever is on the radio and I think they sound fine. 10's would probably better suit what your looking for though.
You gotta get some pics up so we can see what you did!!
Hindsight I probably should of went with 10's. Only reason is i'm not sure if the subs have enough air space, or maybe my amp isn't pushing them hard enough due to then not being wired at one ohm.
If you catch it at the right time you can get rebates from leer. I also got a military discount. It's the plain Jane model no carpet or pet screens.
If you do the right things to your truck I think they look bad ass. Rubber frog had one on his rig and that thing was a beast, I never...
Cap finally came in and I got it installed yesterday. It looks like it sits higher in the back, but that could be because the rake of the truck I wont know for sure until I lift and level her.
Overall I am pretty happy with it. LEER had some good discounts and rebates, which is why I...
I redid the spacer in half inch MDF, put a bead of silicone around it and let it dry. Man o man what a difference. These 12's f'ing pound, nothing like 15''s but they hit hard. I can get some pics up later.
The most surprising thing out of this entire build has nothing to do with the subs...
I hope so. I believe the Alpine mrx m110x is the model. It's running 4 ohms right now. I almost want to wire the subs down to 1 ohm to see if amp can take it. I'll wait till I get the air leaks fixed though.

finally got the speakers in the truck. I needed to raise the subs up another half inch, they just wouldn't clear the inside part of the box FML. I didn't have enough MDF laying around so I scavenged some shitty wood to get the half inch I needed. NOW I have air leaks, so tomorrow I will get...
(1) sheet of 1/2" MDF from Lowes $30 - $40
(2) gallons of resin 85 oz of hardener and 15 yards of fiberglass mat from US Composites $180+/-
^^I also bought the pumps for the bottles of resin and hardener made life really easy for the first box. I threw them away before I made the second box...
I got the last of the bondo done, that is some strong smelling stuff. I primered the whole box to try to suppress the smell lol. I got wire terminal hole drilled out. Gonna let the box dry over night.
I just got the 3.5's in the mail for the dash. I went with the jl's. Man those sound...
I ordered the xq should be here in the next week or so. If you don't getting anything by then I'll post a few pics.

Well today I tried my hand at bondo. All in all it was pretty easy, getting it to look smooth will take some practice. The two things I am trying to achieve is to stop any air leaks I may have had and to make the top and bottom piece one solid piece. Only time will tell if I did it right and...
