    Yes, I agree, alcohol actively interferes with the chemical reaction in my brain :). Unless you are extremely diligent about getting the bulb absolutely clean, it can leave a film on the glass, but yes, a good ammonia-based glass cleaner will work as well.

    For an inexpensive solution you can do an H9 swap for the H11 in the low beam. For the highbeam you can run 9011's in place of the 9005's. You do need to do a minor trim for the bulbs to fit, but it's easy to do. Life is shorter on the H9 compared to the H11 but that's about the only downside...

    Not necessarily, my 2010 1500 has the tow package, with the tow/haul button and factory hitch receiver, and it did not have tow mirrors. Either the lights are bad, not that uncommon, or the truck didn't originally come with them and they are not activated.

    Did the truck originally come with the tow mirrors? It's possible the truck came with the base mirrors w\o the signals and the prev owner swapped them out and never activated them. Do the approach lights work? As suggested, I'd test voltage first.
