Where is this fluid coming from?
The compressor was leaking at the shaft seal, not at the manifold connection and again, not knowing how long it had been, I elected to replace the compressor. There was still a little charge left in it when I replaced it. It's getting evacuated and charged with refrigerant tomorrow.- dellaone

Where is this fluid coming from?
Closer examination after removing the belt and belt tensioner revealed that the AC compressor has blown out it's oil. Time for a new compressor. I couldn't really tell where it was coming from before.- dellaone

Pre-emptive Lift Pump Replacement
I got the new lift pump in today. I had to crack several injector b-nuts to get it bled, but it eventually started (this included the filter replacement). Thanks everyone for the feedback. Not knowing how long this particular VP44 has been living with low pressure, I guess I will wait until the other shoe drops and save my money in the meantime for replacement pumps and fuel pressure indication solution.- dellaone

Thinking this through, I realize too much pressure is not good either, but ultimately don't I really just need to know if I have enough pressure at WOT? So instead of a 5 psi switch, a 7 or a 10?
