I don't know the max time, but there is setting in the 8.4 that allows you to change how long the radio is on after turning off the engine. I currently have mine set to 5 minutes I believe.
Just got off the phone with JL, the tech said that you can retain the fold flat flooring. He mentioned losing the fold flat flooring was the biggest complaint so they designed the box to retain the flooring.
Did you have any pictures of the fox box for the rear driver seat? I am wanting to go with one sub and keep the cargo storage on the passenger side for my Saint Bernard.
Thanks. Yeah I didn't realize that until after everything was said and done. I downloaded an EQ app on my phone that let me tweak it pretty good. The only downside is you have to play the music through the app and the UI isn't very friendly for navigating the music, and there is a little input lag.
Just installed these right now to hold me over until I actually get around to sorting out and ordering stuff for my audio build. Got them cheap from a friend..... And to say these things are bright is a huge understatement. I have the 8.4a and I just plugged these in. The highs are turned all...
Don't know if I missed it, but for the amp compartment, you drilled the two holes for ventilation in the plastic, did you modify the upholstery too to allow for better circulation?
Thanks for the insight. I just got done reading the dsp thread. Pretty good stuff. Reading through your thread and the way others described their sound in the dsp thread makes me want to have the best possible sound I can have. I find it a little annoying right now how much stronger the driver...
just curious, do you have a power distribution block to run your amp and your dsp? Or did you run a separate power line? The deq-8 is still for sale on amazon for 314. Was thinking about picking one up for my current build plans. I'm a car audio noob but from seeing multiple build threads most...
I'm not sure of my budget either. This is going to be my first full on build. In my previous car I only installed an amp and two subs and I bought the amp and subs off my friend for 100$ total(2 RE Sr 10s and a sony explode amp).
I guess I would be looking for the middle of the road quality...
What kind of speakers would you guys recommend for listen to metal/death metal any kind of metal basically?
I had already ordered some speakers, but that was my mistake for ordering before doing all my research. I originally planned on just doing some plug and play speakers front door and...
Cool thanks for the advice. I will probably end up getting that sub. Reviews on other sites are pretty good and the price is good also. That amp I was looking would still be ok for it right? If I adjust the gain based on the RMS value of the sub?
Thanks again for the help.

Thanks for the info. I haven't decided what sub I will be using. I was looking at getting the sealed Fox box that sits behind the driver seat. They recommend a sub from Alpine, Kicker, or Jl. I'm not to sure yet. This is my first audio build. Do you guys recommend anything? Sub budget is...
40 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms + 300 watts x 1 at 4 ohms
50 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms + 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
Got a question on amp ratings. This is for a kenwood excelon 700-5.
If I have 4 ohm speakers and a 2 ohm sub, will I get the 300 or 500 watts for the sub?
