    Installing OEM backup cam

Two wires should have been separated. One to pdc and the other to a ground. Remaining go through firewall. It's personal preference whether to go through the rubber boot for main wiring into cab or to drill a hole through the cover plate for clutch to the left. I went through the cover plate...

    footwell led wiring

If you search in the 4th Gen DIY forum you will find a thread about oem footwell lighting. I just installed this in my regular cab. I bought the oem led lights and bezels. The thread starts out on how to stick them in place with double sided tape but you don't need to do this if you buy the...

    Installing OEM backup cam

When you say nothing works do you mean radio doesn't work either? If the radio won't come on you may have depopulated needed wires on connector to radio that power up everything. When reading instructions with camera kit it can be confusing where the 3 wires terminate on radio connector. When...

Routing wiring header to mirror 2014 1500 Express

The uconnect 3.0 to 5.0 upgrade is finally finished. I routed the wiring header to the oem mirror with microphone and installed the evic switch with v/r and phone buttons on the steering wheel. While I had the glove box out I went ahead and installed the oem footwell lighting on passenger side...

Thanks CuylerTech, I found out what the existing wire is. I's the satellite antenna wire. I will try the same thing you did. Hope it doesn't rattle.

Routing wiring header to mirror 2014 1500 Express

I know some of you guys have done this and need some input. I'm trying to route an oem wiring header for oem manual mirror with microphone. I wasn't expecting existing wiring where I need to plug in all the straps for new header. It looks like the existing wiring has something to do with air...

DIY: 2013-2014 OEM Steering Wheel Audio Control Install

How are you guys turning the steering wheel to get the airbag clips loose? I tried turning my wheels on finished concrete floor in garage while engine off and it feels like I'm going to break something before the wheels move. Are you putting sand under the wheels or doing this mod in the yard on...

    Installing OEM backup cam

Connector C5 should be connected to port E on the BCM. Look on the BCM it should have letters near the connection.

    Installing OEM backup cam

Remove two screws at bottom of kick panel and grab below steering column and pull. The housing is the outer part of the connector. If you look at photo above you can see where the connector has one small hump on the side and the housing has a square opening where the hump slides into. Separate...

    Installing OEM backup cam

It is the hardest part of the install. The only way I could do it was to slide a workout bench over to the driver side to hold my romp up as I lay on my right shoulder. I also detached the driver side kick panel and one connector to it. I left the hood release attached and slid the kick panel...

DIY: 2013 Ram add OEM Backup Camera

I believe that is what I'm talking about. You have to remove it to depopulate pins correct? Thanks for the links. I may buy one and the next time I have my radio out I'll replace it.

DIY: 2013 Ram add OEM Backup Camera

You're welcome. If anyone out there that knows how to take the red face plate off of radio connector without breaking it please give advice. It might help others. I broke mine into 3 pieces. I snapped them back on even though they were broken without issue.

This is a photo of mine before I added the camera pins. The camera pins go on bottom left looking from the rear as shown. Hope this helps.

DIY: 2013 Ram add OEM Backup Camera

It was confusing for me to where the pins went until I saw an image I think that is earlier in this thread showing exactly where they go from the rear. The diagram in kit instructions made me think I had to depopulate some existing wires which was wrong. If you look at rear of connector it is...

DIY: 2013 Ram add OEM Backup Camera

I used a small pick that is the size of a pocket screwdriver to depopulate pins. They come with some screw driver sets. This one has a bent end but the straight one will do also.

    2013+ RA3 NA VP3 8.4A FM/SAT/BT/Uconnect Radio

That is a good price. I paid more than that for my RA2 5.0 off of ebay. It would be nice to have the bigger screen for the backup camera.

    Aftermarket backup camera

More than likely the tailgate harness is there but the body harness going from rear to front isn't. You can tell by looking under the rear of the truck just slightly to driver side of spare tire. Just follow the existing body harness up to where it connects to tailgate harness. If you just see...

DIY: 2013 Ram add OEM Backup Camera

I don't know if this helps any but when I had my 2014 Ram Express serviced the first time the Dealer threw in this bag of parts in my dash. It happens to be the tailgate and body harness connectors. I have no idea why this would have been a service bulletin or recall but anyway the bag has a...
