If you are looking for more articulation out of the front of your 1500, take a look at the KORE high angle CV's. These CV's are often used to cure drive-line vibrations caused by over extending the capabilities of stock CV's.
I was working on an 09 1500 that the pressure tube you are referring to was broken. What a pain in the butt to find. Anyway, the truck I was working on had an engine code because of this. Not saying all trucks would throw a code, but emission codes are pretty sensitive IMO.

Best post on this thread! A track bar is not completely necessary but recommended if you plan on running larger tires. I have seen stock track bars flex on low speed turns with 37's running low psi. Another thing to keep in mind with larger tires would be a steering stabilizer. For a quality kit...
