I was the same. Watched tons of videos and such. Mine in a 2010 and I'm in Canada where they salt the roads. Everything was seized. Ended up replacing upper ball joints and the bushing that the lower shock bolt goes through. Had to use a ball joint press to do that. Still got it done in a day...
Your truck must be new. I had to cut my old shocks out because the lower shock bolt was seized so bad. Had to replace the bushings too...

If you have an older truck and live where salt is used on roads, be prepared to cut your stock struts out and replace the bushings for the lower strut bolt. Install was a pain but still worth it!
