    Do mean the optional OBD splitter cable or the plug and play kits. I ordered an AMP plug and play kit from Nick and don't understand the splitter usefulness if all I have to do is pull the amp plug when using the OBD port for diagnostics or smog tests.

    Ok, I see what you are saying. If I wanted to use the boards for ding protection while parked it seems the optional manual switch would be the best way to go. Thanks for the heads up.

    This is a good point, thanks for the reminder. With the AMP powerboards retracted this would be a non issue. However it would be a consideration if the steps were left down while parked to protect against door dings.

    For the AMP power step owners, when you step on the board to keep it in the down position does this also keep the right side down? This might be a reason to add the manual switch if just the left side stays down for parking lot protection.

    I did this procedure and updated my phone to IOS 12.1.3. For now CarPlay works as it should. Thanks for the tip to clear the phones ram memory. Probably a good idea to do the ram clearing periodically.

    Had my first problem with my 2019 Rebel

    That is an effective band-aid to the problem, not a fix. Perhaps the problem is resolved with a software update from the dealer. My truck is too new to have these issues. Of course we don't have the extreme cold where I live.

    Hood recall?

    I just got my 2019 Ram 1500 a week ago. Long drive home with strong winds in the Mojave Desert didn't cause any hood flutter. This trip through the desert involved gusting cross and head winds. My truck build date is 09/2018. I'm pretty sure this was corrected in builds by September 2018.
