Burla to answer your question yes. I kept getting a tapping sound on start up. Tried different weights of PUP and decided on a whim (and since I needed a change) to put in Castrol GTX Dyno 5/20. Only gonna go 5000mi on the change so we will see. I’m 1000mi in.

No you definitely won’t recoup money, especially where you are. That’s a big difference in price. I guess what I was trying to point out was at least here in VA putting 89 in is not much more expensive in the long run as one might think. I may have done a poor job at it.

I have run a few tanks of 87 in the truck and cannot break 19mpg in my 17. I was running 89 “as recommended” and getting 19. I don’t care about mileage that much but if you are trying to squeak out more miles 89 might be the way to go. On a 20gal fill up its $6 more.
