Better buy for a work truck, occasional heavy hauling not to exceed 12,000

The 4x4 5.7 is more versatile. The cummins takes yrs to recoupe the upfront price.

7 weeks and 2500 miles 6.4 fuel economy

So far my best mpg was 16.8 but my dash read 18.8, I think its is off by a % not a straight 2mpg across the board. When the truck reads 9.5 mpg towing, I get 9 mpg calculated.

    2500 5.7 Hemi questions

Looking at getting an early 2500 5.7 hemi for a feed/farm truck. What are common issues these trucks had?

6.4 Hemi 100K Spark Plug Change

Same question. Surely there is a good set out there.

    Mastercraft CXT

I got over 50k on mine running 33x12.5R20's pulling trailers grossing over 30k at times. I still had tread to spare but ruined one and replaced the set.

    Mastercraft CXT

Mickey Thompson, Cooper, and mastercraft are all made by cooper usa. I have mastercrafts on the front of my 2wd service truck, its not worth paying more for 3 ply coopers on a truck that won't be spinning its front tires.

    Bought a 2018 2500 Hemi

Will alphaobd reset everything on tpms? I think I understand that the receiver hub needs changed at the dealer? Will alpha obd void warranty if used?

    Bought a 2018 2500 Hemi

Is there a way to change the tire pressure alert to a lower number? Unless I'm planning to tow I'd prefer to keep all tires at 50-60 but the alert is coming on at 65 psi on the rears

Cost of Supplies for 6.4 Hemi Oil Change

I used to run nothing but firestone and always got 40-50k on my half tons. My '18 ram had the rear tires air to 90 when I got it, doesn't help tire life or my back.

Cost of Supplies for 6.4 Hemi Oil Change

So I have a Newb question. I have never heard of PUP oil and I haven't came up with the answer to the abreviation. Otherwise I am not up to my first oil change yet on the Ram but have ran redline in our ford edge for 135k miles with 225 on the car currently. I have 0w40 royal purple and a wix...

I have had them on multiple trucks. Its about the only cold air intake I trust.

6.4 exuast manifold leaks vs 5.7 exuast manifold leaks

Might call arp and see if they can put together a stud package that the dealer/mopar will sign off on if it becomes a reoccurring issue.

Cost of Supplies for 6.4 Hemi Oil Change

Thats a decent deal. About what my wife pays for oil change and rotation on her impala at the dealer. All gas engine oil changes are like $30 and they charge 85/hr but only charge 30min on the rotation. If my ram dealer had that deal I'd take it. I'm going to check in on that.

I could see that more but his 5.7 2500 is the one that he takes on highway trips to get lumber, he is a housing contractor on the side.

    Bought a 2018 2500 Hemi

I'm not racist, I can enjoy wrenching most brands. I have 4 6.5's, a half ton 6.2, ls swapped 94 C3500, and a cammed 97 454 k3500. Having one truck I don't have to work on is a plus lol

    Bought a 2018 2500 Hemi

I like rhe old IDI diesels. Nothing fast about them but with a little tlc they are dependable rigs. My service truck is currently a 95 Chevy 6.5L w/ 333k miles on it. Still fires up every morning and hauls tools and fuel to the tractors.

    6.4 Hemi Gear Swap

Same here. I traded my duramax for a 6.4 and now my family wonders how I will haul hay or farm equipment. Funny thing is my trailers are smaller than what my dad pulled with an 80's model chevy 350 w/ 4 speed. Surely the 6.4 can pull better than an old carbed 350 lol.

    Bought a 2018 2500 Hemi

He has an arm bed, 2000# cake box, and 100 gallon diesel tank on his truck. His is a srw cab and chassis w/ the aisin. He feeds 100 head on the ranch, is 12 miles to town or 20 miles to the other pastures. He averages 8mpg. I don't plan to use mine like that for awhile, I'd rather use an older...

    Bought a 2018 2500 Hemi

He loves the truck but imo a gasser would be cheaper for feeding cattle. It runs pretty well too but 8mpg daily and 4 mpg towing is worse than my 454. My duramax got the exact same feeding cattle as my 454.

    Truck & Tires Update/Review

I always had great luck with cooper AT3'S and ST Maxx tires. I get around 10k more out of at3's but if the truck spends any real time off road st maxx is worth it.

    Bought a 2018 2500 Hemi

I used to run hot shot loads. No thanks! Lol 4.10s would allow the trans to hold 5th towing and 4.56's should catch 6th towing on stock tires. Thats just in theory. I am definitely going to try the 3.73s for awhile.

My thoughts are install the hitch myself, grind the rough edges, quick shot of rattle can primer, then take it in for a liner.

    Bought a 2018 2500 Hemi

That is what I plan to do. The local accessory shop stopped doing bed liners. Once I get a shop to spray it I will cut the hole and install the ball.
