Chrysler Dodge Jeep recommends every 3k but alot of the newer stuff is going to 5k. it really depends on your driving habits. I always do mine at 3k. Doing it early never hurts.
You sould probaly check you map sensor readings and the iac count. The map sould be around 29. If nothing is found there check the cam and crank sinc state. They may go in and out of sinc and not cause a dtc to set.

I would start with removing the air cleaner tube and looking down the plentum. If you see oil at the bottom your lower plentum gasket is blown. Also check your iac motor and map sensor. they are known to give issues .
