Anyone have any input on their gas saving technology? They say that you get 4 cylinder capabilities if you flip a switch or I guess if it detects that it only needs 4 cylinders (like on a long highway drive). I don't know how it works is it automatic or do you have to flip a switch?
And my...
Thanks for the great replies you 2. Very good information. Man, this is a lot that is involved. I guess that is the price we have to pay though, to get a truck that we truly want.
I really want a Cummins. I asked a lot of questions and got plenty of great answers from you folks.
So to sum it all up........if I get a Cummins and I get the DPF removed (and I think there was one more thing that needs to be removed I forget what it is)........ is that the "cure all"...
The fishbowl thing.......I just assumed that is the way Sattelite radio sounds.
It don't bother me though because I don't listen to music when I am driving. I only listen to talk shows, comedy, or news.
Looks real good. Just curious though how the ride quality is now? Do you notice a big difference in ride quality, steering capabilities, noise, fuel economy?
Just debating whether or not I want to lift mine.
I just did a fuel, trip calculator online by CityData. It turns out that if you drive 10,000 miles in a year the difference between a 12 city/15 highway and a
13 city/ 18 highway vehicle is only a "whopping" $400 per year.
If that's the case, then 2500 all the way for me.
Oh by the...
I guess 12/15 with the Hemi 2500 is not that much different than 13/18
with the 1500 Hemi. Although they say the new ones are getting 25? But who knows, you hear so many conflicting things.
As for the rear view mirror..........I would say that a backup camera is absolutely MANDATORY for...
I guess my only concerns are fuel economy and ride quality.
I know we don't buy trucks for the fuel economy. But I am thinking there is a big difference in getting 10-12 mpg than there is getting 13-18 mpg. I know its also dependent on driving practices. The only reason I don't go PowerWagon...
Tell me what you like and don't like about your 2500 Hemi.
Not PowerWagons though, I already know they are awesome. Just talking about the others like the
Laramie or Longhorn Laramie. Or even Big Horn.
This should only take you ten minutes to read, if that. Please read it and let me know what you think. How much would all of this cost? Who could do this for me should I decide to go this route (how to find a good shop that would do all this). Also tell me if you like the idea of doing this...
I know that tire wear depends on many different factors. So this is just a survey of how often you tend to have to replace all 4 of your tires.
For me, 30,000 miles.
For real, that's the only way to do it! I always park way out in the boonies, away from everyone. If you don't do that you are just asking to get dinged up.
Now, all the inspection station does is check your emissions. They got rid of the "mechanical inspections".
The one thing I also worry about is getting pulled over. I just made a post about that though. Like just now.
I am of the opinion that you will NOT ever get pulled over for having, say, a Flowmaster exhaust. Am I right to assume that? So long as you are not driving like an idiot, the police usually don't pay any mind to a Flowmaster exhaust right?
Things like performance headers, a lift kit of say, 6...
If you have a 2005 Ram Power Wagon and you get performance exhaust, performance headers, cold air intake, and a Bullydog power programmer.....will any of that effect your motor vehicle inspection?
I know the main thing they do is check your emissions at the inspection.
Hey folks. I am sure almost none of you remember me. It has been a long, long time since I posted here.
Long story short, my life situation has changed. Without getting into details, I will never be able to afford a 2012 Power Wagon (don't like the '13's). It will be quite some time before I...
