I just purchased a K&N myself and should be receiving early next week. My goal was maybe a little more pep and a better filter in general.
If I'm following correctly the "readjusting" to factory parameters is done by the vehicle's computer and the gains will take time b/c the truck is...
I just got home from dealership. Same noises you have. They have to replace upper and lower control arms. Mine has 23,500 miles and I'm a fairly conservative driver with stock everything.
I didn't like my start up sometime last winter on my '12. Since, then I turn my key to accessory and let fuel pump stop winding then one quick click and fires right up. Not sure if this does anything but made me feel better.
I have a 4x2 Ram 1500. I have been hearing a rattle a low speeds while the windows are down and radio off. I almost have to strain my ears to hear it. I've checked all my exhaust connections and aftermarket steps. I haven't been able to find anything until I washing the truck and was doing...
So I'm thinking of doing my oil changes myself again. I have always done them but with my Ram I have taken it to the dealership. Their prices have soared and the express places around are upwards of $45!!! My dealership uses mopar oil and AC Delco filters. I'm sticking with conventional...
I read the thread on the 180 degree T-stat and I'm curious as to what are the normal temps and oil pressure on a stock 1500 w/ 5.7 Hemi? I looked at the owners manual and couldn't find anything in there and if there is thread on here that explains it...please point me in that direction...
From my understanding the computer memorizes your driving habits and operates accordingly. My brother in law was a mechanic for Toyota and is a gearhead/computer guy. When I first bought my truck the response was quick at all speeds. Once I broke it in and drove it awhile the response when I...
Just curious...what has anyone done with a turbo charger and an external wastegate on a 5.7 Hemi MDS? I'm not well versed in this department so if I sound stupid it's because I am when it comes to turbos. I thought this would be a bad a$$ combo for a Hemi that would sound awesome and improve...
I've got 3.92 and love the acceleration. I don't plan on heavy towing or drag racing but its all there if I need it. If you baby it and find the fuel it likes you'll be in good shape.
The best I've been able to do is 17.5 average for any length of time. That was with 87 octane and mixed driving. I run 89 octane because it's recommended and average 15.5 to 16.5 most of the time.
If you buy a console that would be in the sport package and put it into an express are all the hookups ready; behind where the current cup holder drawer is? In other words can I hook up to the air duct and electric for illuminated cup holders in the new console?
Sorry if this is a repeat...
I have a '12 Express w/ 20" tires and 3.92's with factory tow package. I think that's standard for that model.
As for MPG...I range from 15.5 to 17.3. A lot of mixed driving and terrain changes (small hills, winding roads, traffic and endless construction on the highways). Haven't been...
Gas is so much easier than diesel! I operate diesel equipment and it's not fun in cold weather; block heaters, glow plugs, fuel additives, ugh the list goes on. Having diesel for a daily driver takes patience and dedication. I don't think I'd be able to do it. Although, I don't mind taken...
Just wondering are there any risks by not warming up your truck on these cold winter mornings? I have always done so when the temp drops below 40F. I have heard many opinions and know some people who just start and go. Thought it would be fun to see who does or doesn't.
I guess we all have to at some point put our trust into someone else to work on our trucks. I'm sure not everyone here is a mechanic or can do all their own repairs or service. The dealership I go to has been very good to me and my family for over 15 years. I don't feel that I am making a bad...
The dealership for two reasons.
1. I prefer putting Mopar parts and fluids into my truck
2. It costs a few dollars more for them to do it but getting rid of oil is a PIA!
I've have always done it myself but have started going to the dealership since the recent purchase of the Jeep and the...
