08 Ram transmission problem

I was driving today and went to pass someone when it went to downshift there was a clunk sound and then wouldn't move. Turning the truck off and restarting the truck would go in 1st gear but wouldn't switch to 2nd. Also before restarting it wouldn't go in reverse. I'm guessing some sensor but which one?

Hello budfrazier88 , I just read your post about your transmission problem . Did you ever find out what caused your trouble. I'm asking because I had a similar problem with my '06 Ram 2500 . What caused my problem was a roll pin that keeps the shifter linkage together inside the pan fell out and in the process the roll pin damaged one of the solinoids , it left my truck locked in gear .
