Hi everyone, im looking at trading my 16 1500 for an 18 2500 and the truck I’m looking at is a Tradesman with the most basic modern radio I’ve ever seen.

What are my options for upgrading this radio? I’m not looking to add subs any time soon. Maybe 1 8-10” in the future but not a priority.

I’m more concerned withgood Blue Tooth and media compatibility with my iPhone.

Can I just get the dash bezel and any kenwood type double din radio from crutchfield or is there more needed?

Does the radio control any truck settings like in my 16 express? My current truck has trailer tow settings and door locks and light delay features etc.

I’ve attached a picture of the radio in the potential new truck.

Any help is appreciated!

Yes, you can get everything you need to upgrade to a good radio from crutchfields. You’ll have to get the idatalink equipment from them to keep any factory controls that the oem radio now controls. This would also be a good time to install a backup camera if your truck isn’t equipped with one already.

Debagged, 20x9 Fuel Hostages +0, 295/65R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, Bilsteins at 2.8, weathertech mats, Tuftruck 1223's, Leer camper shell, lumber rack, DeeZee tailgate assist, a homemade platform for the floor in the back of the cab, Packrat toolbox, a UWS truck box, a bedrug tailgate rug and a bolt hitch lock.

Thank you that’s what I was hoping for. The truck will have the backup camera in the rear view mirror like my 13 Ram express. I can deal with that unless it’s an easy change.

I know that but I’m looking to upgrade the radio as long as it will be seamless. I was merely stating that the new radio needed to be BT capable.

That radio does have bluetooth already.

I've got a 16 Tradesman went from the 3.0 to a Pioneer DD/ idata link kit, all my factory functions work and more can't go wrong with that idata link, Im going on almost 2 years with it and no problems, it's a lil pricey but worth it IMO BADASS!
