Battery died. After I jumped it, it has a black screen that says "update failed"

As the title says. Went to start my car this morning and the battery was dead. Nothing was left on at all. Once I jumped it, this screen appeared.

So I did some Googling and went to the UConnect site and put in my vin #, but it says my software is up to date. Meanwhile this screen will just flash off for a second then come back on. It never turns off, which is what killed my battery.

I drive a 2021 Big Horn Shadow Edition if that helps anyone know how to get my hands on the correct software.

Not a good idea to do over the air software updates, if it fails it keeps the info center powered up and runs the battery down, I believe there is a fuse by the positive battery post that you can pull to reset the radio.

Your update may have left the radio on, and glitched causing your battery to die. Looks as if the OS on your radio might need to be manually reloaded by the dealer.

It did it on its own. I didn’t even know it was capable of doing an over the air update. I can’t find that fuse. Saw the short youtube video but still can’t find it

Hold the Power button on the left side of the radio in for like 5 seconds that should shut down the unit.

Thanks but I’ve tried that. As well as holding the power and the knob on the right that controls temps down at the same time. Nothing.

Yes, this fuse location is completely illogical given the gen 5 has 2 fuse panels available.

I believe this Uconnect fuse location applies to both 4th & 5th gen.

Keep in mind that the Uconnect 8.4 also has HVAC controls.

It appears that there's lots of info out there for 4 gen trucks but not much for 5th gen.
