Cab & Frame Identity

Hello and thank you for looking at this post... I have a 03 2500 4X4 short bed. I purchased a 04 2500 that is frame and cab only from a friend of a friend. Brought it home to replace mine that is very well shot, due to the rust. I ran the VIN at a local dealer to be sure, and low and behold, it came back as a 1500. ..... So..... My questions are as follows: Is there a frame ID so that I can check it?? And where can I get the results other than the dealer??? If the frame is a 1500, what are the differences between that and the 2500??? Now the cab. The cab has marked 2500 doors on it. Will the cab of the 1500 replace the 2500 without mods or known issues??? I own this frame and cab now, with no return. If I can use the cab, it will replace the cost of the whole package I purchased. If I can use the frame parts for the 03, that would be a plus.... I thank everyone for reading my post!!!

So the cab will be the same as far as the frame just match it up go under your truck measure some stuff compare good way to determine if its a 1500 or 2500 frame.

Without putting my brain in gear

The body will fit the frame
BUT
Rear Spring Perches & Front Suspension may or may not need modification

I have seen 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 with 2500 front suspension & brakes

It may have been a Mexico build, at the end of the 2003 production year

The auto parts stores would go crazy, trying to match parts for that truck
