Hey Guys and Gals, I just purchased a 2011 RAM Laramie Longhorn with the 5.7 Hemi. I knew the engine would need some attention when I bought it. Codes were P2008, P2017, P0306, and P0308. To keep this thread as short as possible, let's just say that the previous owner had already paid an Inde to do repairs on the truck. He gave me an invoice for $3600 as proof. I contacted the shop, and they did perform the work .....as least some of it! So I started digging (see pic) and found the following: Valve job on right bank....check, replace all lifter on right bank....check, replaced intake and exhaust rocker arms......not so sure, replaced push rods....maybe, replace 16 plugs...check, and replace the Main Bearings.....defiantly NOT, that oil pan had never been removed.
After pulling the right valve cover, and cranking the engine a few revolutions, I knew there was a 98% chance the camshaft was bad. I know what I have to do to get this Hemi back in running order which brings me to my question;
What aftermarket MSD Camshaft Brand would you guys recommend and why?
