can't get it out of reverse

I put a new transmission in my 1999 dodge ram 1500 5.9 and the transmission shifts in to gears but keeps saying its in reverse because the reverse lights are on and I've checked solinoids and grounds what could be issues?

Are you saying it runs fine, forward and back but the backup lights stay on all the time?

No it won't start like its in reverse only you can put it n any gear but won't start like its locked in reverse
