I have a 1999 dodge 1500 5.2L 5-speed with 124000 miles. It recently started dying when coming to a stop and while downshifting from 3rd to 2nd. I replaced the IAC like I did on a 94 that I had and that fixed the problem, but on my 99 it didn’t change anything. Any ideas on what else it could be or is there something else I have to do?

My abs and brake light are also on I put in a new speed sensor in the rear dif and it didn’t work at all so my check engine light is on now. I got a second new sensor and still nothing.

Any pointers would be much appreciated, my pride won’t let me take it to the mechanic.

Look inside where the iac mounts and make sure the hole is clean of any funk or debris. My 97 had some gunk build up and wouldn’t idle properly. Any chance you used a scan tool to pull the codes?

Thanks I will try that. The only code I pulled was p0500 for the speed sensor.
