Anyone experience this?? I have a vararam intake , so my engine cover is off . Possibly making this noise more noticeable . Echoing in the engine bay .... I brought to my mechanic who installed my headers ... he took a stethoscope to the engine and we both listened and determined the noise is coming from the injectors equally and not the lifters (ruling out the infamous lifter tic) ... should I be concerned with the injector noise? Or is that normal and I’m being hyper sensitive to the issue? I’m thinking maybe the winter gas is playing a role? I still run 93 octane but maybe the increase in ethanol?

Attached is a video of what it sounds like ....

Yours is louder than mine but you can hear my injectors fireing off.
probably with your cover off and the headers are making it louder.

Good to know that others can hear it too. I’m gonna put the engine cover on tomorrow and see if it quiets down. Normal noise tho in your opinion?

My injectors are quieter whenever I give it a shot of Lucas Fuel Treatment. I don't run this all the time, probably every 5th or 6th tank or so, ok, actually whenever I remember it's been a while. I know some have reported that they run some sort of upper cylinder lube all the time.

Anyone think maybe the pedal commander I have installed is contributing to this????

Update: took truck to dealer to have a tech listen and he stated it's nothing he'd be cincerened with ... light ticking of the injectors is normal. And could be amplified throughout the engine compartment with the LT headers and vararam mod .... Eased my mind a bit. Of course he said if it is something wrong it'll get worse and louder and nothing I have mod wise should be to blame for it .

^^ yeah try and upper cylinder lube of some sort, but I'm not 100% it is injectors. What oil are you running? Has the noise ever changed cadence at all with an oil change? I don't think pedal c has anything to do with it and it borders on normal. I'm not sold that it is injector noise, it isn't standard hemi tick for sure, but maybe it is just a little raspy in the lifters. I'm not saying that is what it is, just a possibility. First try an upper cylinder lube or two, Redline s1, Lucas, TWC3, I don't think it would matter which one of these because you are just looking for the oil in the formula, not the cleaner. I'd probably just get lucas first, easy to find and cheap. If after a couple bouts with upper lube not working- if that becomes the case, then I would consider oil and filter combo's.

Thanks for the info.... I'm %100 it's the injectors ... I personally listened to each one with a stethoscope and then listened to the lifters completely different sound and the sound I hear is exactly what I hear with stethoscope except obviously amplified . But I am running my tank for the first time with Lucas upper cylinder lube . No chang so far .... I also think its more noticeable with trucks that have longtubes for some reason .

I have noticed trucks with headers do tend to sound a little ticky. You remove those thick cast iron logs and replace them with thin wall stainless, valve train noise is bound to be amplified.

The big question on injectors, does any vendor make an aftermarket upgrade in stock PSI?
I owned an 88 Vette that the injectors ticked horribly, I replaced the stock injector with rotary disc style and it was quite as a mouse...nice performance gain too.

Ah good point . I’m not a mechanic by any means but that makes sense to me . I think a lot of people mistake injector noise for a lifter tic./ hemi tic . But Yes I’d be interested on upgrading the injectors if that were an option. I’ll have to do some research . I wish there were a performance shop near me that dealt with Rams specifically.
