Light bar behind grill

I have a 1996 half ton sport and I want light bars on the front without being able to see them. I do not know if putting them in front of the radiator and behind the honeycomb grill would be a good idea. And would a bar be better than just smaller square lights?

I had lights behind the grill on my 95, and there was no problems. I would go with smaller squares ones since they might be easier to mount, and the center of that grill would block a lot of light from a "bar".
