Hi everyone!
As the title suggests, I've been lurking around the forum, wanting a RAM for quite some time now and just recently pulled the trigger on one. Previously I was a Jeep guy (owned two Jeep JK's), and a few weeks ago I went in to the dealership to see what the new sales are all about up here in Canada, and ended up walking out with a 2016 RAM Sport Quad-cab .
I had the dealership throw a set of 35" Trail Grapplers, a 2.5" Procomp lift, and 20" Fuel Beast wheels, Bushwacker flares, and a Mopar tri-fold soft tonneau.
Here are a few pictures of it. The first one is prior to the flare install when it was sitting at the dealership (what a long wait!). The second is this past weekend after I gave it a good cleaning.
I couldn't be happier with it. I loved my Jeeps, but from a practicality perspective (I only ever owned 2-doors), they weren't the greatest. After having the truck for 3 weeks I've already put it to use basically every weekend so far
I have a feeling that a 4" lift will be in my future though. While I like the 2.5", I feel like a 4" would be the sweet spot in terms of height.
I was also quite shocked at how well the 8 speed + Hemi combo handles the 35's. Coming from the Jeep world I was very apprehensive about going this route with the 3.21 gears, but I was reassured by a few people that it would be fine. After driving it about 2500KM so far, I haven't had any issues, and I've even managed to get 630-660KM on a tank of gas as well, which shocked me even more. I'm sure once I tow something I will wish I had 3.92's, but I don't really have much need to tow any large amount of weight.
Anyways, I look forward to finally being able to ask questions and chiming in on threads now that I'm an actual RAM owner!
