Ok thanks. Just to be clear though you are checking your digital readout in your information display? This picture is at idle after I put things back to stock. Oil was still not up to temp but the Pacbrake setup would have dropped to the lower 30s at this point.

Yup, not sure of any other way to get the actual numbers. I think the idiot gauge just says H & L, right?

Pacofortacos can you describe briefly the installation process for the:

Oil Filter Adapter - Mopar (4893402AB)​

Does it bolt right up? Any difficulty with installation?

Thanks for any tips or advice. I’ll likely go this route at my next oil change. I like the mopar unit as it wouldn’t cause warranty concerns.

On the 2017 and up/current RAM 1500 5.7 has the oil heat exchanger and for that particular part to fit the heat exchanger would have to be removed?

Ok thanks. I was wondering as I didn’t recall seeing anywhere for this part to bolt up to. Guess that deep sixes this option for me. Mess it is moving forward. Luckily it’s a once a year job for me.

Oil pressure for a Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi should be around 42 pounds per square inch (psi). Most car manufacturers recommend that oil pressure should be around 30 psi when idling and about 60 psi when the engine is running at higher speeds. We have many threads that have identified 30 for the Ram is too low long

Some years ago here at work we dyno'd quite a few GM crate motors and started noticing on a particular batch we recieved(we buy like 100 at a time)..the low idle hots on these motors were around 12-15pds...called up some GM engineers..everyone of them said perfectly normal...the guys were like ahhhh,I don't think so...motors never failed though.
My ram has been low 20s hot idle since ive owned it....55pds area at 2k.
