Can someone please give me a straight answer here? My local dealer has been zero help with this!

I need to replace my factory projector lights on my 2014 Laramie 1500. Bought a brand new OEM headlight (right side) on ebay for a great deal from a 2018 Laramie 1500. On test hookup, it works fine on my truck. Found a matching left side available with part #
6832 4941AD, listed for years 2016-2019 DS. Obvs this would match the 2018... Seller ran my VIN says it won't work on my truck.

When I look up my VIN on various Mopar sites, I get two part #s:

6809 3216AD (right)
6809 3217AD (left)
For years 2013-2015.

6809 3220AD
6809 3221AD
For years 2013-2014.

All are projectors, no duals/quads.

Are these things interchangeable or not?? Dealer says the 2018 lights may cause some issue with my BCM and that the 3216/3217 are the only ones for my truck. Of course that means spending $1400 vs. the steal I got for half that. Can someone please help me out? TIA!

The changes need to be made in the BCM using the OBDLink MX+ and AlfaOBD. Projectors have LED turn signals which the BCM needs to be changed to accept.
Also the headlight bulb needs to be selected for LED, Xenon or HID

Do my 2014 projectors not have LED signals? The turn signal worked when I connected the '18 lamp and tested all functions.

If I remember correctly the 13'-14' trucks had different canbus setting/light bubs #'s (9012's vs 9005's i believe) vs the 2015 and up.

The plugs at the back of the lights should be the same.

Try the news ones and see what happens, they will probable work just fine.

If you already have the lights just put them in and see what happens.

Close, it was 2016 the low beam bulbs in the OEM projectors were switched to 9005.

@Wheelhouse everything else about the OEM projectors are the same, you shouldn't have to make any BCM changes. May have to re-aim the headlights and you may want to swap both as the 9005 are higher wattage then the 9012 that were the original low beam bulbs.
Even if you have any issues, AlfaOBD is well worth the investment for making changes and being able to troubleshoot the vehicle modules.
