On a recent 300 mile trip, I thought I felt a tire vibration and noise coming form the left rear tire. After driving that distance, I figured I lost a wheel weight. I got it checked out the next day and it turns out that the rear axle bearing failed and then gouged the axle shaft. So, I rented a car, found a repair shop, and picked it up four days later. First time ever to lose a bearing. I figured on a 2017 Ram 1500 with 77 k miles, it was premature. Anyone with a similar failure?

Rare but not unheard of. I remember a thread on here a couple years ago where someone had a bearing failure at very low mileage but that's really the only other instance I can recall.
