Had an after market remote start installed on my 06 1500. Its an code alarm CA 5054. week or so after installing it the security light came on when I would use the remote start and the door lock/unlock remote would not work. Brought it back to the dealer who installed it and he reset the remote start. 7-10 days later same thing. If I take out the security fuse it will reset and work for about a week then same thing. I had it back to the company who installed it a few times and he mentioned what he thinks is causing it.
1. The airbag light is on and that is causing the security light to come on.
2. Due to the age of the vehicle and mileage 200k+ the truck is just too old.
I only owned the truck for a few months before the remote start was installed and never had a security problem until after it was installed. I don't see the connection between the airbag and the security light and a ten year old vehicle isn't what I would consider old. the truck was well taken care of.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
