Been driving and enjoying my '021 Ram Classic. It threw a frequent error code, claiming the transfer case clutch pack was energized. Factory Master mechanic found a loose, getting looser ground strap forward of the starter and just plain hidden by other stuff, like the shafts. Once it got warm outside, starting the hot, and up to compression engine meant starter grounded increasingly by the housing. Tighten the hidden and undocumented strap, and it's a runner.
Signs you might notice if yours is corroded or loose:
* constant high charging output at the gauge
* Occasional starter slowing then speeding up
* Dagburn 4WD Serv MIL at start up
* Cold engine lag off idle
* Angry nut behind the steering wheel.
It came from the factory like this. Had the issue day one of ownership, but pandemic surge made me, a retired guy who doesn't drive much, wait a little. Chrysler Cares gave a free extended warranty. Powerful truck with awesome mileage when driven like the old man I am.
