Bare with me guys that have seen this and are bored to death with it, but some haven't seen it.
I fabricated my own "Ram Air" snorkel to accommodate my Vararam, which I re-engineered to fit on my 3rd gen.

How do you operate your cut out ? Old school manual or electric ? Your welds look real nice

Fourm follows function. 1st thing a weld has to do is last. I made the pipes short enough to be able to get inside with a belt sander. To clean up penetration of welds. I'll grind some on the outside later and spray with black hot paint.

I welded a flat plate to the end of a square tube, and then ground off the crappy aluminum "tube" (just a couple of tabs that fit inside the receiver hitch), and bolted that to the steel plate. Now, I have a step on the front of the truck so I can reach into the engine compartment, or the top of the hood to wash it.
I do lose a lot in the approach angle, but it's easy enough to take out if needed.

I also made a small bracket for the top dashboard pocket. Now, I can put my phone there at the perfect angle to use the GPS.

I really like that step At 6ft3 with long monkey arms I can reach all of the hood But that would be good for me for the truck bad
Here is a pi of my GPS mount I made, Simple and basic ,works well and was cheap. Around 12$ If I remember right ! Anf your GPS mount looks like it will hold up well

I wanted something that was universal. With just having a support bracket, other people can put their phones there, too. I wish RAM would make some type of adjustable bracket in there that you could move to various angles, to make it more useful. Keep it down for sunglasses, etc. Or move it to various positions for holding different gadgets at different angles.

Yea it is a fairly useless spot lol. That is why I mounted my GPS bracket there, Kept my GPS low, I have not used the phone GPS yet,Just my GARMIN'S , But my son LOVES the GPS on his phone

Thanks, it’s a 30” single row from rough country. I got the black series and recessed it so it wouldn’t stand out from the rest of the truck and blend in.
