I have had a steel slider in my 8' RAM for 17 years, when my new '23 came in, I shortened it and installed it today.
The RAMBoxes make it much more useful since in my old regular bed stuff would fall off the sides and get lodged in place.
Welding a $10 hardened washer on each side would do it.
Alternative would be to place a copper tube which is slightly larger than the pin through the hole and mig/tig weld around the tube.
MIG will not stick to copper so you can drive the tube out after the weld cools. Welding material is much...
The 7th gear of 3.21 is same effective ration as 8th gear with 3.92.
I would just max out in 7th and you should be fine. The torque converter will still lock up so there shouldn't be any heating issues.
Anyone else try that?
I had a shop replace the main line to the rear (they had to pull the gas tank) and both front lines on my '04 2500 because they were rusted. $1,400. Even though I have a lift it was well worth it. I do not have enough experience on brake line stuff.
