    Jeepwalker thanks for the info. I hadnt thought about any of these things. However checking the caerfax shows they bought it in August and only put a few miles on it. They did replace the back brakes and muffler/tailpipe.

    did you consider buying the wiring kit from crutchfield. about $20 IIRC. saves a ton of time and hassle IMO. just plug into the factory wiring.

    So I finally broke down and got the carfax report. It shows that the 3rd owner is the current dealer. No red flags or title issues. Thank you all for your time and the good advice.
